With an attempt to preserve the integrity of the existing forested landscape, the design began. Using stones excavated from the housing site, and choosing predominantly native Massachusetts plants, we created a landscape that integrates the house into the surrounding environment. Factors considered were low maintenance, four seasons of interest, home office's solar electric needs, and biodiversity. This is a perfect balance between function and form.
